Japan is calling!!
At last, this is my chance to travel to my dream destination. I fly to Tokyo in April with All Nippon Airways, which is one of the best airlines in the world from Japan. With more than 2 weeks there, I have explore many wonders in central Japan and soak up the traditional culture.

April is the most favorable month to visit and there is only one thing that crosses everyone’s mind: “Sakura” season. The cherry blossom usually occurs at the end of March to early April. Cherry trees in Japan will fully bloom and create a stunning scenery and backdrop in cities, towns and nature.
Welcome to ANA

After waiting in the airport lounge for almost 2 hours, I finally get on board the plane and was warmly greeted by friendly blue uniform staff.

I settle in on my window seat for an early morning flight from Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo Narita Airport. The 32′ legroom fits me comfortably for the entire 7-hour journey.
Lunch on Board

Once we are up in the air, the cabin crew serves some light snacks and lunch. I love their lunch and the food is pretty delicious. My set comes with two types of rice, chicken, vegetable, sushi, Edamame and salad.
Checking ANA’s Features

I love one of the special features of its Boeing 787 Dreamliner which is the window. During the mid-flight, I noticed that they do not have any window shades, but rather use an electrochromic smart glass that can adjust one of five capacity settings. I have a little fun testing and figure out how this works.
There is a gel between these dimmable windows that is being charged with an electric current to create a chemical reaction. I can press the button to either increase or decrease the dimming level. So when the current gets higher, the gel becomes darker but still has some degree of transparency at its higher level.

After long-way through the flight, I get my legs stretched and go for a toilet break. When I’m inside the lavatory, there is also something different with the toilet bowl.
The TOTO Washlet is heated and comes with six buttons: back, front, soft and stop, along with a plus and minus to adjust the water pressure strength.
This is something you won’t see in every plane and this is my first encounter on an airplane, although I have been flying with many airlines in the past. ANA became the first airline to install Washlet-equipped toilets when they bought the Boeing Dreamliner.
The Japanese-style toilet bidets are commonly found around Japan’s hotels, shopping malls, public toilets, tourist sites and Shinkansen train. Of course, the size of those toilets is much bigger and some bidets have extra features.
Pretty cool stuff, don’t you think?
Looking Out at the Land of Rising Sun

As the plane makes its final approach to land, I get to see the beautiful view of the ocean and the landscape of the countryside. There is a red circle at its wing that symbolizes Japan. The flight went smoothly and landed at Narita Airport in the late evening.
